GITA 1: 2023-2024

Aratrik Som

GITA isn’t just about making cool programs and being a coder. It’s about making something that expands the way you are, as a person, artist, innovator and thinker. It is an intriguing and interactive Computer Science program.

My future educational goals are to learn more about coding and explore my passions, and also take some AP’s next year
My future career goal is probably to go to college and then go from there. I’m not totally sure what my passion right now
I don’t belong to any clubs at the moment, but I will join some volunteer clubs in the future.
I’m currently not involved in community service, but I’m going to volunteer at the same dog shelter I got my dog from.

First Semester

Goodbye Program

Date: 8/23

In this project, we learned the basics, just using buttons to influence labels. You can press a button to display goodbye in different languages.

About Page

Date: 8/25

In this project, we continued using buttons, now to make things appear and disappear. we also learned about changing properties via code. We allowed to user to reveal elements and change color and font.

Mailing Label

Date: 8/30

In this project, we worked with strings and concantations. We were also introduced to textboxes. We are able to create a mailing label generator

Mad Libs

Date: 9/6

In this project, we elaborated on message boxes and strings, and made a madlibs story from user input

Car Rental

Date: 9/11

In this project, we learn how to do math and manage variaibles in c#, and went deeper into buttons, textboxes, and strings. This was our first big project.

BMI

Date: 9/18

In this project, we went deeper into calculations, including averages, conditionals, and variables.

Car Rental Upgrade

Date: 9/25

In this project, we added to the previous car rental program, by using checkboxes and more math.

Test Score

Date: 10/2

In this project, we used math to calculate the average of 2 test scores.

Dice Roller

Date: 10/4

In this project, we used random numbers to simulate rolling dice, including probablilites.

Craps Game

Date: 10/10

In this project, we simulated a craps game, using random numbers, math, and condtitions.

Slot Machine

Date: 10/17

In this project, we simulated a slot machine with picture boxes, radio buttons, and calculations.

Taco Shop

Date: 10/26

In this project, we used images, variables, radio buttons, checkboxes, and textboxes for a fully functional taco shop ordering program.

Rock Paper Scissor Lizard Spock

Date: 11/9

In this project, we simulated rock paper scissors, with a twist. The project consisted of a lot of complicated conditionals and also math.

Stair Walker

Date: 11/27

In this project, we created our first simple game. we uses arrays, random numbers, and picture boxes.

Second Semester

2D Subs

Date: 12/18

In this project, we used 2D arrays to do a submarine simuations

Tic-Tac-Toe

Date: 1/16

In this project, we used 2D arrays and game logic to create a fuctional tic-tac-toe game

Basic AI

Date: 1-29

In this project, we learned how to create a simple game using user inputs and a basic Ai

Star Field

Date: 2/13

In this project, we elaborated on arrays and implemented many interesting functions in them

Fishing Sim

Date: 2/26

In this project, we combined what we knew about arrays and game logic to create a fishing simulator

Number array

Date: 3/11

In this project, we learned how to use numbers in arrays and calulate values

Bee Sim

Date: 3/11

In this project, we used dymanic lists to simulate bees nesting on flowers.

FINAL PROJECT - Racoon Buffet

Date: 5/31

This is my final project for GITA 1, where everything I learned comes together in one ultimate program. I created a casual cartoon game where you are a hungry racoon trying to run away from a mouse.
